Anne Pitcher is a Professor of African Studies and Political Science at the University of Michigan. She has a BA in Political Science and History from Duke University and an MPhil and DPhil in Politics from Oxford University, England.  She is currently editor, along with Kelly Askew, of a book series at the University of Michigan called African Perspectives.

She enjoys hiking, cycling, travel and theater of all kinds.
